My Story
I was born in 1976 on the Texas coastline. Starting carpentry at a relatively young age, it has always been considered a cherished art and outlet. However, discovering art, sculpture, painting and ceramics opened me up to the endless possibilities and avenues artists take for expressions sake. With a stint of writing on a high school newspaper and in a creative writing class in college, I abandoned writing and embraced other mediums, save a few poems here and there. Some chronicling of my years of substance abuse in my early twenties, but nothing serious until September of 2017. After sobering up, I became a workaholic and slowly watched my soul dry up. I think it took more of a beating with that, than it ever did with narcotics.
Hopefully, Thresholds is the first of many writing projects. I have another project, Deconstructed, that I'm super duper excited about. Along with writing and art, I love hanging out with my daughter, Captain Shenanigans, fishing, and hiking. As well as cooking, taking showers and eating tacos. Snuggles. Some other stuff. Things. I like things.

Reviews
I could see the story in my head like a movie!
"Two people reunited years later after college trying to make a go of a relationship. Sometimes I got caught up with the imagery and almost got lost. At first I felt like I was stoned then realized it was them. Their lives seemed to be a full time job of running away from everything including themselves. Like they were running a race. The relationship of sorts was like coming up for air then diving back below the surface. Neither had the emotional fortitude to stay and own up... by the time he was it was too late. Depression is a very sad thing to deal with and is handled much better with help. On a personal level, I could see things I identified with but didn't want to admit. I was gobsmacked by the ending although I could almost see it. My heart wanted more but my head knew otherwise. A poignant story of trying to recapture the past which was just out of reach... enlightening and entertaining too! All in all an entertaining first novel!"

Sweet, Hot, Dreams
"I started this book not knowing the author and his work. Am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised. The book is laid back, down to earth, and real life. I enjoyed immensely and loved the well written words and real life feeling. I'm not a spoiler, but will say the characters are great. Hot as Hades, and emotional as two people who have never committed, kinda committed to each other without realizing it. The ending will take your breath away. Recommend as a great read, well written, and super interesting. Made me think of my high school/early adult years."

Gripping and Sexy, Sad and Sweet
"I did not know what to expect when I was given this novella for an honest review by independent author, Chris Donaho, but as soon as I started reading, I was hooked on his unique writing style and riveting storyline. His words transport the reader into the scenes from the sounds of the rain on a tin roof to the silence of the woods, and the erotic scenes are off the charts. Donaho's characters are realistic and relatable, and readers will want to see these people succeed as he guides you toward an ending you will not see coming. If I say more, I could be giving something away, but I highly recommend this book." -LB
You will love this book
"When i was asked to read and review I was unsure what I was getting into. I have to say I am now hooked on this author. He wrote a story that anyone can relate to. I am sure that anyone who reads this will find that his ability to make you dive in will leave you wanting more. He had a way to make you fell as you are a part of the story. I am ready to see what comes next."

Erotic? Yes
"This was closer to a 3.5 star read for me but I rounded up because it WAS a little different. It was as described to me, super short and yes very erotic. There are issues in the story for both John and Julia that are super glossed over because of the length of the book but the story had the ability to have more substance if the author wanted it to. Truly super steamy yes and if that's why you are reading it...you'll love it. I wanted more :)" -Sue O.
